ITI shortlisted for Best Digital Transformation award
We're delighted to announce that the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) has been shortlisted for "Best Digital Transformation" at the UK Association Success Awards 2024.
This recognition reflects ITI's extensive efforts to upgrade its platform to better serve translators and interpreters globally. Central to this transformation is ITI’s enhanced Find a Professional directory, which allows the public and businesses to easily search and connect with language experts across 250 language combinations and 189 specialised fields.
Previously, ITI’s directory was limited in functionality and usability, with no self-service features for members. Members had to request updates, and directory changes were processed manually. Today, ITI’s upgraded directory offers members complete control over their profiles in real-time, making it easy for them to adjust contact information, specialisms, and even CPD achievements.
The platform also allows for customisation in visibility, as members can opt out of listings or modify the address displayed, catering to privacy preferences. Since the transformation, the directory sees over 7,000 searches monthly, a testament to its value for both members and the public. Enhanced features like social media links, ISO certification badges, and the ability to reverse language pairings streamline the search process, making it more intuitive for users.
The result is a significant drop in phone enquiries, now only 9% of all queries, as most users find answers through the online form. The ITI’s commitment to a powerful digital transformation has fostered greater member engagement, higher membership upgrades, and improved productivity for ITI staff. This modern, responsive platform not only meets the needs of members but also underscores ITI’s standing as a leading association for translation professionals worldwide.
