Why US associations need more than a standard AMS

When it comes to managing membership data, many US organisations rely on Association Management Software (AMS). While these systems are essential for handling day-to-day operations, there’s a growing recognition that a standard AMS might not be enough to meet all the needs of dynamic and evolving membership organisations.

This is reflected in the 2024 State of Membership Survey from Association Trends. The #1 answer to the question “What capabilities or features would you like improved in your AMS?” is ‘engagement tools’ (48% of respondents).
